It is operated by PGH PRO HUB, a service of RHG Solutions LLC. PGH PRO HUB connects homeowners across the Pittsburgh area with local professionals across a range of home service trades. The wager behind this site is that the opposite approach works better for everyone. If the furnace repair page genuinely helps you check the four things worth checking — including the possibility of a snow-blocked vent pipe in winter — some readers will fix the problem themselves and never send us anything. That is a fine outcome. The ones who do need a contractor will describe the problem better, and arrive at that conversation harder to sell something unnecessary to.

We are also deliberately conservative about facts. Where we could not verify something — current rebate amounts, typical prices, local permit specifics — we say so and point you at the official source instead of publishing a confident-sounding number. There is a page on this site about HVAC costs that declines to list prices, which is a strange thing for a lead-generation site to do, and we think it is the right call.

How the site makes money

Plainly: PGH PRO HUB operates this site as part of a business that connects homeowners with contractors. Sending a request costs you nothing. We are not paid by you, and we do not take a share of what you pay a contractor. You should know that this is a commercial site so you can weigh what you read here accordingly — which is also why we point you to the IRS, the EPA, ENERGY STAR and Franklin Park Borough for anything that matters rather than asking you to take our word for it.
